1.0 INTRODUCTION

Personal development of self is one of the first far reaching steps towards accomplishing your targets in life. It helps people and organisation, to accomplish their most extreme potential at work places. What is clear and evident is that all personal development are sharpened and refined through consistent practice. As being what is indicated, the most practical one is, the better or the change of personal development. Accordingly overwhelming measurement of steady practice and every day applications to diverse circumstances prompts better procurement of learnable conduct. More so it is important to comprehend the significance of joining and blending conceptual knowledge with down to earth applications at work places. (Vucaj, 2014)

In covering this report the researcher would be highlighting and explaining areas of personal development based on identified needs of three employees within the organisation, identifying and discussing of strategies used for improving management of self and personal effectiveness in the work environment.

2.0 PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT BASED ON IDENTIFIED NEEDS OF THREE EMPLOYEES WITHIN THE ORGANISATION

2.1 FRONT DESK OFFICE

Communication: Is the life saver between the receiver and the sender. So as a front desk office, you ought to have the capacity to communicate up to management, over to managers, out to potential employees, to customers and down to all levels of current workers. It is been done through writing, speaking with substantial and little groups and progressively, through social media. Good communication practices are at the heart of each effective business. Without effective internal communications, work procedures backs off or come to a standstill and customers are not served properly. (Schleifer, Bruce, 2015)

2.2 MANAGER

Problem solving: Is the pith of what managers exist to do. As a manager, the objective is to minimize the event of issues which implies, you must be sufficiently bold to handle the issues in your organisation. You must be flexible in your mission to make and support momentum for the organisation and the people you serve. Issues continues mounting so quick that you discover yourself taking alternate routes to briefly ease the strain points, so you can move over onto the next issue. A manager ought to never see a problem as a distraction, yet rather as a key strategic enabler for constant change and opportunities that are unseen. Manager who does not have this wisdom comes in contact with problems, hence just seeing the issues that lies before them, accordingly hindering the possibility outcomes that exist in the problem. (Llopis, 2013)

2.3 MARKETING

Critical thinking skills: As a marketing staff, you are entrusted with information, data, marketing skills and projections relating to the workforce and in addition, the whole organisation. Therefore, business ethics, standards and discretion are fundamental skills and qualities. As a marketing person you must be capable or can utilize your circumspection and dependably put the enthusiasm of the organisation first consequently ready to market the organisation appropriately. Analytical or critical thinking skills are exceptionally fundamental in regards to how well you market the products and the organisation. A marketing person ought to have the capacity to think outside the box so as to take care of any problem that may happen, to expand the development of that organisation. (Mayhew, 2015)

3.0 STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING MANAGEMENT OF SELF AND PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

3.1 ADOPT A GOOD ATTITUDE

People with good attitude at work takes the activity at whatever point they can. There are voluntarily in helping colleagues in need at work, they verify that their work is done to the most astounding standards. Embracing a decent attitude will accomplish more than simply gaining you regard, in setting out measures for your work and your attitude, it implies that you are likewise assuming liability for yourself. This astounding attribute is hard to find in numerous organisation. Exhibition of ethical decision making and genuineness could open such a large number of doors for such a person later on to come. (Smith, 2015)

3.2 POSITION/IDENTIFY/DISTILL

3.3 GET ORGANISED

3.5 IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH

In today’s techno-business setup, individual health is put under a ton of strain. The length of you might want to disregard the regular side effects of an inactive work life, disregarding it for quite a while will result to long team damage to the body. A sound mind and body is obliged to work productively and reliably deliver great result. Resting no less than 6-8 hours consistently to re-empower and re-vitalize your body. At the cause of this work, the researcher has been able to cover and explain areas of personal development based on identified needs of three employees within the organisation which are the front desk officer (communication),  manager (problem solving), and marketing (critical thinking skills). And also able to identify and discuss strategies for improving management of self and personal effectiveness in the work environment which includes: adopting a good attitude, position/identify/distill, get organized, building of essential skills, improving your health.

5.0 RECOMMENDATION

Personal development is a self-constant practice done by different individuals in a work environment, so the researcher is recommending for:

  • Continuous training of acquired skills.
  • Consistency in applying these skills outside your work environment.
  • In achieving success in your work place, you must be organized.
  • Most importantly an employee must consider his/her health as a priority in that organisation. Once an employee is healthy so will the customers.
